San Juan Basin Public Health's conclusions demonstrate the importance of holistic climate planning that takes seriously the impacts of climate change to the entire public health system.
Franklin County Public Health developed a set of local environmental public health indicators to track trends in the health effects of climate-related conditions. These indicators will allow them to better incorporate climate-related conditions in their public health planning efforts.
In 2020, the Forsyth County Department of Public Health (NC) vector control program demonstrated improvements in both insecticide resistance training (IRT) and capacity for cooperation and coordination with nearby vector control programs compared to their self-assessment in 2017.
The Virginia Department of Health developed COVID-19 Regional Surge Teams to augment capacity to the local health districts (LHDs) by providing highly qualified staff to assist with case investigations and contact tracing (CI/CT) and additional public health projects. This model enabled a flexible, highly competent, regionally managed response team that was adaptable to local needs.
Long-term care facilities and nursing homes are facing challenging times. Between being short-staffed, COVID mitigation strategy implementation, and vaccine mandates to name a few, we recognize how important it is to maintain communication, provide education and support, as efficiently as possible.
