This toolkit was developed by the U.S. Department of Justice and provides information to help local governments stay compliant with Title II of the ADA. This toolkit also provides instruction on identifying and addressing barriers that prevent people with disabilities from gaining equal access to state and local government programs, services, and activities. Topics in the toolkit include conducting accessibility surveys of government buildings, developing accessible emergency and general communication, emergency management, and urban design. Accessibility: The website is screen reader accessible. PDFs may not be fully accessible using a screen reader or Read Out Loud. Navigation may be confusing and not all text may be readable.
