Communications Planning Guide for Local Health Departments

To help foster effective communications by local health departments, a new communications planning guide has been developed to support local health department professionals with varying levels of staff resources, work experiences, and organizational priorities. The planning guide provides a basic framework to use and includes questions to consider when developing communications strategies. This guide was developed by communications professionals from local health departments who are members of NACCHO’s Public Health Communications Workgroup (2023-2024).
