The St. Clair County (SCC) Medical Reserve Corps unit supports the entire community of St. Clair County, Illinois, including individuals of all races, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and age. The SCC MRC unit is especially important since the jurisdiction serves a community that has a higher poverty rate and a lower median income than the national average. The poverty percentage in St. Clair County is 13.3%. Often communities in poverty experience inequities when it comes to education, medical care, and access to resources. This mission set helps to bridge this gap.
