Region 4 Volunteer Management Program Plan id5949
This document establishes the policies and procedures for Louisiana Department of Health employees and Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Unit Leaders at the State, Regional, Local, Tribal, and Territorial levels who manage volunteers through the states Louisiana Volunteer in Action (LAVA) and MRC Programs. When managed appropriately, volunteers provide valuable, cost-effective resources to the community daily and during times of disasters. The plan provides information on recruiting, credentialing, a list of trainings, processing volunteers, a checklist for spontaneous and affiliated medical and non-medical volunteers, and out-of-state volunteers. In addition, the plan cites the legal codes that cover immunities from civil liabilities of volunteers, evaluation forms and job action sheets.
