In 2001, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) published Program and Funding Guidelines for Comprehensive Local Tobacco Control Programs (Guidelines) to apply the recommendations of CDC's Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs (Best Practices) to the specific needs and realities of tobacco control programs at the local level. In 2010, NACCHO released an updated version of the Guidelines to reflect changes made in the updated 2007 edition of CDC's Best Practices. NACCHO has created a document to summarize the 2010 Guidelines, which provides users with a preview of the larger resource. The full Guidelines can also be found in NACCHO's Chronic Disease Prevention Toolkit.
