The "What Teens Are Into..." list has been compiled by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the US (SIECUS). This document lists some popular television shows, musicians, magazines, and adolescent health promotion Web sites for teens as of October 2007. This resource can be used to make adolescent programs more culturally appropriate, and utilizing youth culture can be a hook to get adolescents more involved in prevention programs. It is beneficial for local health departments working with adolescents to have some knowledge of youth culture in order for programs to be appealing and interesting for the target audience.
