Ahead of the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ second virtual NACCHO 360, we are once again partnering with Climate for Health to offer a pre-conference workshop, “Climate for Health Ambassadors Training” on Monday, June 28, from 11 AM to 3:30 PM EDT (including a 30 minute lunch break).
70% of Americans think it is their local community’s responsibility to address climate change. This training opportunity by trusted subject matter experts will equip you with the knowledge, resources, and support to speak and act confidently on climate change and solutions on behalf of your communities.
Participants will be able to empower their colleagues, associations, constituents, the public, and policymakers in making a change on climate solutions that help protect the health of our families and communities now, and ensure a prosperous, just, and secure future.
- Section 1: Introduction, Climate Change Overview, Climate Impacts on Health
- Section 2: Climate Solutions and Health Benefits (National, State, Local, Professional, and Personal)
- Section 3: Advocacy and Engagement: Communicating on Climate and Health
“With all of the news coming out about climate change, I felt the urgency and obligation to act. Because of the Climate for Health Ambassadors Training, I had the skills necessary to offer a talk about climate change & health at our annual regional environmental health convening.”
– Testimonial from a Climate for Health Ambassador
Upon completion of the training, NACCHO members will be offered the option to receive a “Climate for Health Ambassador” designation. These leaders will receive support to present on climate and health and take specific advocacy action on climate solutions.
Space is limited, so hurry! Sign up for the training and receive additional information and logistics after filling out this form.
