Connecting the Dots: State-Local Coordination for Best Leveraging the Lab for Epi Response Webinar

Apr 20, 2026

On April 23, 2026, NACCHO hosted a webinar on Connecting the Dots: State-Local Coordination for Best Leveraging the Lab for Epi Response.

This webinar featured speakers from two local health departments and the state public health laboratory in California, highlighting lessons learned from their collaboration. The session provided a concrete example of meaningful engagement between state and local health departments and on NACCHO’s work exploring how states support local jurisdictions as part of CDC’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases (ELC) program.

Through discussions on past outbreaks, current challenges, and future preparedness efforts, attendees gained practical strategies to strengthen epidemiology and laboratory coordination, enhance data sharing, and improve disease prioritization.
