NACCHO News and Announcements

NACCHO Releases New Funding Opportunity to Build Capacity in Harm Reduction Communication

Are you looking for ways to enhance communication and marketing of your harm reduction services, or wanting to increase support for these programs in your communities? In partnership with Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), NACCHO is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity to support local communication needs assessments and tailored communication capacity building and technical assistance through June 2024 for up to eight (8) local harm reduction programs and syringe services programs (LHRPs/SSPs). ORAU will provide selected programs with a stipend of $10,000 to use in developing and executing a tailored communication plan. Your participation in the program will also help inform a toolkit that can be used nationally to improve harm reduction communication for a range of priority audiences. Click here to review the full announcement and application. All applications must be submitted no later than November 2, 2023. Please send all questions about the opportunity to [email protected]. Interested parties should attend the Office Hour on October 26, 2:00-3:00 PM ET. Zoom invite link: NACCHO/ORAU Office Hour and/or review the FAQ document produced after the office hour is held.

HIV/STI/Harm Reduction/RIM Digital Marketing & Communications Survey

As NACCHO and KFF kick off their joint partnership to highlight marketing and communications efforts across the country, both organizations are interested in understanding how health departments are currently leading with this work and what they would like to learn more about to help better inform their digital marketing and communications efforts. The completion of this survey will help to shape the webinar series, as well as additional efforts in the future. Please have a team member who is familiar with your digital communications provide responses to this short query to share information about your experiences. We appreciate your time and consideration in providing this information. For information or questions about the survey, don’t hesitate to reach out to Daisha Washington ([email protected]), Senior Program Analyst, STIs.
