Get Involved: Social Media Campaign for Sexual Health

Oct 28, 2016 | Kim Rodgers

From November 1 to January 31, the National Coalition of Sexual Health (NCSH) will be leading a two-part social media campaign to promote sexual health. This campaign includes sample content that you can use as-is and/or adapt for your local health department’s digital and social channels. NCSH formatted the content for Twitter, but it can be used for Facebook as well. The campaign contains two parts:

Part 1: The theme for this campaign is sexual health and older adults. NCSH developed content for this theme that includes sexuality and aging, having a satisfying sex life as an older adult, sexually transmitted infections and safer sex, and preventive sexual health services for older adults.

Part 2: This features sample tweets in support of key health observances, holidays, and other cultural milestones. The key observances for this quarter include:

  • Thanks, Birth Control (Nov 16)
  • Thanksgiving Day (Nov 24)
  • Black Friday (Nov 25)
  • Cyber Monday (Nov 28)
  • Giving Tuesday (Nov 29)
  • International AIDS Awareness Month (December)
  • World AIDS Day (Dec 1)
  • Happy Holidays
  • New Year’s Eve (Dec 31)
  • New Year’s Day (Jan 1)
  • Cervical Health Awareness Month (January)

NACCHO will be using these resources to promote sexual health and encourages our members and colleagues to do the same!
