Council for Outbreak Response: Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogens (AR) (CORHA) strengthens practices and policies at local, state, and national levels to detect, investigate, control, and prevent outbreaks across the healthcare continuum.
NACCHO is a founding member and serves on CORHA’s governance committee. Since 2015, CORHA has united a multidisciplinary network of national associations and federal agencies. Its resources include condition- or event-specific reference tools, such as reporting thresholds, investigation guides, and standardized control measures.
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) featured James Lewis, health officer for the Snohomish County Health Department, on a recent episode of Public Health Review Morning Edition. He discussed how timely access to electronic health records can transform public health response during healthcare-associated infection outbreaks—a topic he also champions through his work with CORHA.
