Washington, DC, February 8, 2024 - The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the country’s over 3,300 local health departments, with the support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics, has announced new funding awards to strengthen local health departments’ capacity to integrate forecasting and analytics tools into infectious disease outbreak planning and response.
NACCHO has awarded funding to 15 local health departments to increase their capacity to create, interpret, and communicate forecasting models and outbreak analytics. These funds will assist local health departments in implementing tools and methodologies to proactively predict and analyze outbreaks. Also, the new funding and advanced resources will help improve public health response and mitigate the impact of respiratory infectious diseases.

- Fort Bend Health & Human Services, Richmond, Texas ($75,000)
- Franklin County Public Health, Columbus, Ohio ($75,000)
- Hardin County Health Services, Kountze, Texas ($75,000)
- Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department, Kalamazoo, Michigan ($26,730)
- Marion County Public Health, Indianapolis, Indiana ($36,545)
- Nassau County Department of Health, Mineola, New York ($74,425)
- South Heartland District Health Department, Hastings, Nebraska ($42,225)

Awardees will implement the project through June 2024.
