NACCHO recently released a new report highlighting the connection between public health accreditation and Health Impact Assessment (HIA). This document describes how local health departments (LHDs) can use HIA as a tool to accomplish two important aims simultaneously. More specifically, by incorporating HIA into their practice, LHDs can use it to promote community health improvement, and provide documentation demonstrating conformity to the Public Health Accreditation Board Standards and Measures, Version 1.5.
