Nominations for the Inclusion and Diversity for Equitable Advancement in Environmental Health Award

Apr 13, 2022 | Guest Author

The Environmental Health & Equity Collaborative is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2022 Inclusion and Diversity for Equitable Advancement in Environmental Health (IDEA EH) Award. The IDEA EH Award will celebrate organizations whose environmental health leadership exemplifies inclusion, diversity, and equity. Nominations will be accepted through August 5, 2022.

Nominations are welcome from inside or outside the nominated organization. Qualified candidate organizations can include state, local, tribal, or territorial, or federal health agencies; non-profit or for-profit organizations; and academic institutions.

The Collaborative is excited to highlight success stories in hiring, retention, partnerships, and education in environmental health leadership that may serve as a template for others. Ideal nominees show leadership in one of the following areas:

  • innovative activities to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • continued commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the environmental health workforce; or
  • organizational partnerships that ensure diverse, equitable, and inclusive programming

Those who submit nominees must complete an online form that includes information about the organization being nominated and short narrative of 500 words or less detailing its commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity. Please follow this link to submit nominations.

The IDEA EH awardee will be notified in September 2022. The award will be distributed during APHA’s 2022 Annual Meeting and Expo. In addition, stories of awardees will be showcased in Public Health Newswire.

The EHEC Collaborative looks forward to celebrating the successes of the nominated organizations and the collective advancement of environmental health leadership in inclusion, diversity, and equity. If you have any questions, please email Olubukolami “Mimi” David at [email protected].
