Last year, CDC’s Division of Vector-Borne Diseases conducted focus groups to better understand certain at-risk audiences’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding mosquito and tick bite prevention. The agency asked participants about their knowledge of vector-borne diseases, likelihood of performing different personal protective behaviors (PPBs), appeal and understanding of sample communication materials, and the preferred way to receive health information.
