Utilize CDC's Rapid Community Assessment to Understand the Vaccination Needs of Your Communities

Feb 20, 2025 | Clarissa Montes, Victoria Thompson

Over the past few years, NACCHO has partnered with local health departments (LHDs) to implement the CDC’s Rapid Community Assessment (RCA), a tool developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to quickly identify vaccination gaps, assess vaccine acceptance, and guide strategies to improve coverage. The RCA gathers community insights on public health challenges, enabling LHDs to develop tailored, community-informed strategies that enhance vaccination uptake.

NACCHO has released an infographic highlighting the RCA’s purpose, success stories, and its role in addressing vaccination barriers, particularly for underserved populations. Visit the CDC’s website for more information on conducting an RCA.
