The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the nation’s nearly 3,000 local governmental health departments, is pleased to announce that the Washoe County Health District in Nevada as the recipient of the 2021 Samuel J. Crumbine Consumer Protection Award for Excellence in Food Protection at the Local Level.
On Thursday, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions held the hearing, “Examining our COVID-19 Response: Improving Health Equity and Outcomes by Addressing Health Disparities,” to examine the COVID-19 response, focusing on improving health equity and outcomes, as well as addressing health disparities.
NACCHO’s Federal Legislative and Policy Agenda guides the organization’s work in its interactions with federal agencies and Congress. The Agenda features NACCHO’s priority issues and is informed by local health department input and approved annually by the Board of Directors.
