On Wednesday, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, presided over by Chair Anna Eshoo (D-CA), held a hearing entitled: “The Fiscal Year 2022 HHS Budget.” Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Xavier Becerra to testified on President Biden’s preliminary budget outline, including discretionary funding for HHS.
Today, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the nearly 3,000 local health departments across the country, released the following statement applauding the Biden-Harris Administration for investing over $7 billion from the American Rescue Plan to support the public health workforce during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
