    MRC Volunteers Aid in Dallas Ebola Response

    As soon as the first U.S. diagnosed case of Ebola was confirmed, Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) enlisted support from its team of Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers. A total of 56 individual members responded to the request to staff the DCHHS Call Center – one important method Dallas County used to respond to the public about Ebola virus disease.

    When the first case of Ebola emerged in Dallas on September 20, Collin County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) knew they would have to be ready to respond. Collin County is a veteran community 23 miles north of Dallas with a large population that regularly commutes into the metro area, and someone would have likely been in contact with a person with a possible Ebola case.
