On Thursday, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions held the hearing, “Examining our COVID-19 Response: Improving Health Equity and Outcomes by Addressing Health Disparities,” to examine the COVID-19 response, focusing on improving health equity and outcomes, as well as addressing health disparities.
The new NASTAD infographic, “Verifying PrEP is Covered as a Preventive Service,” summarizes the steps to verify that a given plan is offering PrEP at no cost to the patient.

As communities continue to implement physical distancing recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19, many have turned to innovative solutions to address social isolation and loneliness. Local government and community leaders have enlisted technology to aid in strengthening social connection. At the same time, many have taken steps to close gaps in access to technology.
The Grade A recommendation for HIV PrEP by the US Preventive Services Task Force means that most health insurance plans must cover PrEP without cost sharing, but many plans have not yet complied with this legal requirement.
