NACCHO’s Health and Disability Program recently updated its policy statement. NACCHO fellows Valerie Perkoski (PhD student at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions) and Haleigh Leslie (DrPH student at East Tennessee State University) and NACCHO’s Health and Disability workgroup members were instrumental in developing the revised policy statement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant drop in routine immunizations for adults and children. While the numbers are recovering, they are not recovering evenly across all groups. It is crucial that we take steps to help get everyone on schedule with their routine immunizations. Local health departments are a vital part of these efforts.
Speakers will discuss challenges that local health departments have been experiencing, including employee retention, workforce burnout, and how these issues were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic
