Report reveals the impacts that climate change and associated natural disasters continue to have on emergency management capabilities and communities across the country.
The Virginia Department of Health developed COVID-19 Regional Surge Teams to augment capacity to the local health districts (LHDs) by providing highly qualified staff to assist with case investigations and contact tracing (CI/CT) and additional public health projects. This model enabled a flexible, highly competent, regionally managed response team that was adaptable to local needs.
Events of today present an opportunity to examine how the preparedness community can learn from past response efforts and better position communities to meet the challenges that lay ahead.
NACCHO is recruiting members for a Virtual Learning Collaborative to develop and train maternal-child health and emergency preparedness and response professionals at local health departments on integrating MCH considerations into emergency planning.
