From February 22-25, NACCHO hosted its second annual Virtual Hill Week with local health leaders from across the country championing local public health with their members of Congress.
On January 13, Senators Tina Smith (D-MN), Susan Collins (R-ME), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) reintroduced the Strengthening the Public Health Workforce Act (S.3506), which would provide education loan repayment to eligible individuals who work in a state, local, or tribal public health department.

On Tuesday, October 26, the Subcommittee on Health of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce held a legislative hearing, “Caring for America: Legislation to Support Patients, Caregivers, and Providers.”
With funding from CDC, NACCHO will award up to $50,000 for a consultant, or consulting firm, to support NACCHO and its partners with the development of a train-the-trainer curriculum to prepare LHD staff to implement Project Firstline training in their community’s healthcare facilities.
