With support from the CDC, NACCHO is pleased to announce Equipping Local Health Departments to Address Vaccine Hesitancy, a technical assistance and capacity-building opportunity that will provide LHDs with resources to address vaccine hesitancy across the lifespan for routine, influenza, COVID-19, and other vaccines.
In partnership with the University of Minnesota National Resource Center for Refugee, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM), NACCHO is pleased to offer a funding opportunity to a consultant to provide training and technical assistance to build capacity of LHDs and CBOs to effectively collaborate with Afghan refugee, immigrant, and migrant communities for improved Afghan community public health.
NACCHO is seeking a qualified consultant to develop a Joy in Work implementation guide for local health departments; develop and instruct three skills-building sessions; support up to five local health departments in piloting Joy in Work; and create a fact sheet for the field from lessons learned through pilot sites.
The National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants and Migrants (NRC-RIM) is joining the Afghan Health Initiative (AHI) and Seattle King County Public Health (SKCPH) for a webinar titled Culturally Relevant Lead Poisoning Prevention Strategies for Afghan Newcomer Communities on Oct. 18.

Franklin County Public Health developed a set of local environmental public health indicators to track trends in the health effects of climate-related conditions. These indicators will allow them to better incorporate climate-related conditions in their public health planning efforts.
