NACCHO actively supported officials within county and city health departments to address the environmental health impacts of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). NACCHO's environmental health team identified the current gaps in COVID-19 environmental health resources to curate a dedicated blog series.
The Virginia Department of Health developed COVID-19 Regional Surge Teams to augment capacity to the local health districts (LHDs) by providing highly qualified staff to assist with case investigations and contact tracing (CI/CT) and additional public health projects. This model enabled a flexible, highly competent, regionally managed response team that was adaptable to local needs.
This NACCHO funding opportunity addresses the needs of people with disabilities in emergency preparedness, including COVID-19 planning, mitigation, and recovery efforts.
NACCHO is pleased to offer a technical assistance and capacity-building opportunity that will provide LHDs with resources to address vaccine hesitancy across the lifespan for routine, influenza, COVID-19, and other vaccines.
Read the September/October issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice to see how Medical Reserve Corps volunteers serve as a scalable workforce for Local Health Departments in response to COVID-19 and beyond.
This new "Medical Countermeasure Best Practice Resource Guide" shares best practices and lessons learned from local health departments during COVID-19 response.
