Objectives of this 2014 Medical Countermeasures Full-Scale Exercise include:Assess the timeliness and reliability of communication channels required for successful operation of a pharmacy-based Public Medication Center. Assess Public Health and Walgreens ability to set up a Public Medication Center at a pharmacy in less than two hours. Assess the pharmacys capability to process a high volume of new clients within a two hour period. Assess the relative effectiveness of different medication screening forms in terms of speed and accuracy of dispensing. Exercise scenario: People in the Puget Sound region are exposed to a biological agent during a public event. The biological agent will require the response of health and medical entities to respond quickly to provide prophylaxis to exposed people and their family to prevent sickness and possible death.
