The objective of this project is to identify and understand success factors and best practices related to starting and maintaining profitable farmers markets in low-income, urban communities as a means for creating access to healthy foods in under-served neighborhoods. In order to facilitate the creation of new markets and improve existing markets, we explored practices, behaviors and attitudes related to initiating, organizing, and operating successful farmers markets.
