The purpose of the Communications Annex is to support the mission of the Marion County Health Department in the event of activation of the health department's emergency operations all-hazards plan. The annex will provide essential information and guidance to department officials to help them make informed and timely decisions in regards to the media and community. The annex will help department officials maintain alignment with the health department mission statement of "Promoting and protecting the health of the people of Marion County by acting as a community resource, providing education in prevention and delivering comprehensive care to qualified clients." This pdf file comtains the plan which details jobs needed in the response to and communication about a public health emergency. It serves as a model to other health departments that are developing communication plans.
