Over fifty percent of infant deaths in Tarrant County are linked to infections during pregnancy. Those infectionsare most oftensexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STDs can increase the risk for early labor, premature birth, and infant death. This fact sheet, written in Spanish, helps to inform pregnant women about what steps they can take to protect themselves and their babies.
