The San Francisco Department of Public Health's Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Unit created the Go Folic! campaign to raise awareness about how important it is for women of reproductive age to have enough folic acid in their diets. Go Folic! is an online resource that promotes the immediate and future health benefits of folic acid, including the prevention of birth defects; houses resources and promotional materials other local health departments and community organizations can use to promote folic acid consumption; and informs San Francisco women between the ages of 14 - 44 on where they can access free multivitamins containing folic acid.
