The Local Injury and Violence Prevention Capacity Assessment Tool was designed to assess local health department (LHD) injury and violence prevention efforts, while also taking into account the role of local partners in addressing the causes of injury and violence. Thepurpose of the tool is to (1) provide LHDs and their partners with an opportunity to assess local capacity to address the causes of injury and violence across the lifespan; and (2) identify potential areas for strengthening the organizational and system supports needed to improve local capacity.
