Advanced Practice Center Webinars

The archived APC Webinars feature the eight training programs delivered at the NACCHO APC Training Conference in February 2008. Each webcast features a brief overview of the training resources and describes how they can be used by health departments.

The free webcasts are designed for NACCHO members, public health preparedness staff, and anyone interested in public health preparedness issues. General topic areas include:

Innovative preparedness tools;
Engaging community partners in preparedness;
Applying the Incident Command System (ICS); and
Implementing biosurveillance and environmental health response.

»	2009 APC Training Sessions Presented at the Public Health Preparedness Summit
	APC workshops held throughout the 2009 Public Health Preparedness Summit in San Diego provided preparedness professionals with information on new and innovative best practices in public health preparedness. Topics covered in the APC workshops included: Using pictograms and comics for emergency communication; Tools and guidance for emergency preparedness in rural America; and Preparedness planning with computer models. »	2008 APC Training Conference
	Held in conjunction with the Public Health Preparedness Summit, the 2008 Training Conference drew record numbers of public health preparedness professionals. Topics covered in this 2-day training included: Preparing Medical Reserve Corps for POD operations; Implementing an environmental health emergency response plan; and Conducting a table top exercise with Master the Disaster!, the next generation of exercise builders. »	2007 APC Training Conference
	The 2-day Training Conference provided preparedness training and guidance for local health department participants and covered topics such as: Addressing vulnerable populations; Planning for pandemic flu; Modeling tools; and Responding to preparedness issues in environmental health. More »

»	2006 APC Training Conference
	In February 2006, the APCs presented a free two-day program of preparedness training for local public health professionals. Topics covered included: Mobilizing medical volunteers; Tackling dispensing issues at the local level; Preparing for pandemic flu; and Emerging issues in environmental health preparedness. More »

»	2004 APC Training Conference
	The first APC Training Conference, a 2-day train-the-trainer program, provided preparedness training and guidance to local health department participants and prepared them to implement the training in their own agencies. Topics covered included: Enhancing laboratory response through; Working effectively with the media; and Using logic models to develop a strategic approach to local preparedness. More »
