Project Public Health Ready Criteria


PPHR 2012 Criteria Now Available

The PPHR Criteria, standards for local public health preparedness, are updated regularly and incorporate guidelines from a variety of federal programs. The criteria focus on three project goals including: all-hazards preparedness planning, workforce capacity development, and quality improvement through exercises and real events.  More »

 

Each of the three Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) project goals—emergency preparedness and response planning, workforce capacity development, and exercises to evaluate preparedness—has a comprehensive list of criteria.

PPHR criteria are the only national standards for public health preparedness. They are continuously updated to incorporate the most recent federal initiatives, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Preparedness Metrics, the National Incident Management System (NIMS), and Emergency Service Functions (ESFs).
