Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) is a collaborative activity between NACCHO and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Vision
Local health departments (LHDs) will be fully integrated into the response community and prepared to respond to any health and medical emergency in partnership with community-based organizations.
Mission
To protect the public’s health and increase the public health infrastructure by building preparedness capacity and capability by equipping LHDs with sustainable tools to plan, train and exercise using a continuous quality improvement model.
PPHR is currently working on implementing through a state-supported model. PPHR recognition is currently only occuring through state implementation. We encourage LHDs and regions to utilize the PPHR Criteria and framework to enhance preparedness in your agencies and/or to advocate for the adoption of PPHR by your state health department. For more information, contact any of the PPHR staff.
