PPHR National Reviewers are at the heart of the program—bringing expertise, perspective, and rigor to the review process. In this role, you’ll evaluate applications from local health departments across the country and provide meaningful feedback that helps strengthen real-world preparedness efforts. Your insight helps ensure the process remains fair, consistent, and impactful.

What to Expect
- August 2026: Complete a one-hour virtual orientation and training assessment
- September–October: Review 2–3 applications over six weeks (~50 hours total)
- November–December: Review additional evidence submitted by applicants
- May–June: Review refined submission from qualified applicants (participation varies)
- Throughout review period: Join collaborative team calls

PPHR, a partnership between NACCHO and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a nationally recognized program that helps local health departments build, assess, and demonstrate preparedness capacity across key areas of response.
