NACCHO’s Preparedness Policy Advisory Group (PPAG), its primary advisory body for local health department (LHD) input on national public health preparedness policy, is seeking applicants. PPAG brings together LHD leaders to provide coordinated feedback on federal initiatives and strengthen the local voice in policies related to preparedness, response, and recovery.
Key functions of the PPAG are to:
Provide input on preparedness policies, guidance, and initiatives impacting LHDs;
Advise NACCHO on preparedness priorities and organizational positions; and
Strengthen LHD preparedness capacity by identifying, sharing, and promoting effective practices, tools, and resources.
Membership: Serving on PPAG is both a privilege and a responsibility. Membership includes one local preparedness representative from each state and each of the four directly funded cities (Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.), as well as the chairs of NACCHO’s preparedness workgroups. NACCHO is seeking mid-level to senior public health preparedness professionals and Local Health Officers with strong knowledge of preparedness policy and practice in their jurisdictions.
Time Commitment: PPAG meets monthly via Zoom for 90 minutes. Members are expected to provide timely feedback on federal policies and guidance and share key information with colleagues and partners.
