National Breastfeeding Month, founded by the United States Breastfeeding Committee in 2011, promotes and advocates for breastfeeding and human milk feeding nationwide. This year’s theme, “Forward Together”, emphasizes unity, solidarity, and hope – celebrating the commitment of advocates and organizations committed to advancing policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change in the First Food field and improving access to human milk.

To advance PSE change that supports nutrition security and breastfeeding, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the Public Health Law Center (PHLC) hosted a webinar highlighting local and state-level policy opportunities. The session also featured the Mississippi State Department of Health’s (MSDH) efforts to advance continuity of care in breastfeeding through the implementation of a partner-supported Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
