The Adaptive Action Guide is NACCHO’s newest resource, designed to put into practice Adaptive Leadership core concepts in response to the challenges you face as public health professionals. Public health is an ever-evolving field that requires continuous learning, adaptation, and leadership. A core principle of Adaptive Leadership is that anyone can lead at any time, and this guide supports public health practitioners of all levels to plan and take adaptive action. Navigating adaptive challenges and systemic change requires those involved to experiment and learn together; these practices within Adaptive Leadership theory help us to better understand what is behind a challenge and organize the people affected by the challenge to overcome it together. The Adaptive Action Guide and its Companion Workbook are available for download here. The Workbook provides worksheets to practice applying the concepts described in the guide, including identifying your adaptive action, analyzing the people involved, and taking experimental action to address your challenge.
