The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently released a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program (FEMA). FEMA provides funding to states, territories, federally-recognized tribes and local communities for projects and planning that reduces or eliminates long-term risk of flood damage. FEMA requires state, tribal, and local governments to develop and adopt hazard mitigation plans as a condition for receiving certain types of non-emergency disaster assistance. For more information on eligibility and application submission requirements, click here to view the FY 2017 FMA Grant Program Fact Sheet. Funding applications are due by November 14, 2017.
