In January, the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security launched the Strengthening Health Systems Through Innovation, Engagement, and Leadership in Disasters (SHIELD) initiative – a new effort designed to drive innovation through actionable plans, policies, and tools that strengthen our collective readiness for the future.
SHIELD will focus on three key efforts, including:
- Creating a central hub for the best ideas, proven practices, and problem-solving tools
- Convening leading voices from across sectors to shape the next generation of preparedness and response
- Generating new research, tools, and ways of operating to transform public health preparedness
