Dr. Ojikutu assumed the role on July 1, 2025. Following her term as Vice President, she will become NACCHO Board President-Elect on July 1, 2026.
“I am deeply honored to serve as Vice President of NACCHO especially during this challenging time in the history of public health in our country,” said Dr. Ojikutu. “I look forward to working with the executive committee, the board, organization leadership and staff to ensure that NACCHO continues to advocate for city, county, and tribal public health. Dr. Ojikutu was appointed the Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Boston and Executive Director of the Boston Public Health Commission in July 2021. Among many priorities, her primary goals are to address racism as a public health crisis, improve systems of care and treatment for people living with substance use disorder, build community-empowered initiatives to address pervasive health inequities throughout Boston, and strengthen public health infrastructure with a focus on workforce development.

She is an extensively well-published health equity researcher whose career has focused on overcoming barriers to prevention and treatment for people living with and at risk for HIV infection.
