New Dates Available: Strategic National Stockpile Operations Course

May 30, 2019 | Kim Rodgers

Additional sessions of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Operations Course have been scheduled for August 19 through August 23 and September 16 through September 20.

This five-day, in-person course is offered for federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial medical countermeasure (MCM) planners and officials involved in the receipt and management of MCMs during a public health emergency. Instructors from CDC and the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR) address MCM operational concepts; state warehouse and receiving site operations and developing or enhancing plans for MCM supply chain operations at state and local levels. In addition, demonstrations and hands-on activities with SNS supplies and a broad array of materiel is incorporated. Other topics include public information and communications; dispensing and vaccination site design; and management considerations to enhance efficiencies and operational effectiveness.

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Ala., hosts the course, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) pays travel expenses for students (except federal employees). The course description, registration procedures, and prerequisites are listed on the CPD website.
