NACCHO Releases New Interactive Dashboard Offering Nationwide Data About Local Health Department Infrastructure and Activities

Feb 03, 2025

Washington, DC, February 3, 2025 – The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the country’s over 3,300 local health departments, is pleased to announce the launch of the new NACCHO Profile Study Dashboard. This interactive platform showcases both point-in-time data and longitudinal trends from the 2022 National Profile of Local Health Departments (Profile) Study report, the largest and most comprehensive data source on local health department funding, staffing, activities, and partnerships. NACCHO conducts the National Profile Study every three years to describe local health department infrastructure and practice at the national level.

The dashboard offers a dynamic way to explore National Profile Study findings, encouraging users to uncover insights in key local health department topics, including agency and leadership structures, workforce, finance, services, and more. Designed to serve the needs of public health champions at the federal, state, and local levels, the dashboard makes National Profile Study data more accessible, interactive, and shareable. Users can navigate to their topic of interest, generate customized data visualizations using a comprehensive set of filters, and access narrative insights that promote public health action.

Notable features of the new NACCHO Profile Study Dashboard include:

  • Data Stories weaving several data visualizations and narrative together to help users make sense of the data within the broader context of the local public health landscape.
  • Key Findings synthesizing the data into high-level takeaways, which can be downloaded as a presentation slide or PDF to easily share with stakeholders for education and communications efforts.

To celebrate the launch, NACCHO is hosting a series of events to help users make the most of this tool. Follow NACCHO’s social media channels on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook for more information about the upcoming events, as well as tips and tricks for getting the most out of the dashboard.
