Looking for a meaningful way to make an impact in public health preparedness? Become a Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) National Reviewer and play a key role in shaping the future of local health departments nationwide.

PPHR national reviewers are skilled volunteers who assess whether applications meet the PPHR criteria and provide robust feedback to applicants to further enhance preparedness planning and response. As subject matter experts in the field, national reviewers ensure the integrity and fairness of the PPHR review process.

Don’t Miss this Opportunity to:

  • Help strengthen preparedness across the country by supporting local health departments working to meet national standards.
  • Collaborate with peers across the country and expand your network of public health preparedness experts.
  • Gain insight into innovative preparedness strategies happening in real communities nationwide.

Reviewer Time Commitment

  • Attend a one-hour virtual orientation and training session, along with completing an online training assessment in August.
  • Conduct independent reviews of 2–3 applications over a six-week period beginning in September (estimated time commitment: ~50 hours total).
  • Participate in four conference calls with your review team to discuss the applications.
  • Attend one mandatory in-person meeting in mid-October. NACCHO will cover eligible travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
