The NACCHO News column for the May issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice highlights findings from NACCHO’s national assessment of Inventory Management Systems (IMS) used by local health departments in disaster response.
The column examines qualitative and quantitative data collected from January through July 2025, revealing critical gaps, barriers, and opportunities in IMS adoption and use. Drawing on survey responses from 107 local health departments across 36 states, as well as key informant interviews and focus group discussions, the authors underscore the importance of modernizing and standardizing IMS infrastructure.
