NACCHO is offering a funding opportunity to develop key messages that can be delivered through one-on-one educational outreach, for health departments to use with primary care providers and law enforcement officers to increase their knowledge of harm reduction.
The widespread global news of avian influenza in birds has more than likely raised a few hackle feathers from the general public. NACCHO asked influenza subject matter experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), how local health departments can prepare for the possibility of human infections with these viruses and how to respond to public questions regarding H5N1.
As the voice of the nearly 3,000 local health departments (LHDs) across the country, the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ (NACCHO) portfolio consists of a breadth of projects in which racial health equity is an aim of program planning and implementation across public health domains.
The first annual National Adolescent Immunization Action Week (#AIAW22) is April 4-8th! Launched by Unity Consortium, this initiative aims to bring attention to the importance of adolescent immunization and to urge health care providers and parents to get adolescents up to date on recommended vaccines.
NACCHO, with support from the CDC’s Division of STD Prevention, is pleased to announce two new funding opportunities for health departments to partner with other healthcare entities to expand STI and HIV services, treatment, and care in their communities.
This project aims to identify & support teams to pilot materials for academic detailers that address ACEs and PCEs within the pediatric care setting.
The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology Association (SHEA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) are pleased to announce the awardees of the 2022 Leadership in Epidemiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Public Health (LEAP) Fellowship.
Yes, we’ve made considerable progress! Over 200 million Americans are now protected from COVID-19 thanks to very safe and effective vaccines. Unfortunately, many Americans continue to be hesitant and remain unvaccinated.
