Social media was both an incubator for misinformation that local health officials have had to combat as well as a strategic tool that health departments used to inform the behavioral health of the public during the pandemic.
NACCHO actively supported officials within county and city health departments to address the environmental health impacts of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). NACCHO's environmental health team identified the current gaps in COVID-19 environmental health resources to curate a dedicated blog series.
The infographic was granted the highest level award - Platinum - from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professional (AMCP).
NACCHO developed a series of three Case Studies to share insights into how how LHD-HC partnerships pivoted during the COVID-19 response.
Suffolk County (NY) mentored Franklin County (OH)’s new tick surveillance program as part of NACCHO’s Vector Control Collaborative. COVID-19 travel restrictions did not stop the expansion of tick species, nor did they stop this virtual mentorship. FaceTime tick dragging is a socially-distanced and low-cost way to receive technical assistance for field work.
