The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the voice of the country’s nearly 3,000 local health departments, announced new funding awards to improve the health of refugee, immigrant and migrant (RIM) communities.
NACCHO and the Center for Public Health Systems at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health partnered to conduct an exploratory mixed-methods study to assess the content areas and learning formats that would be most effective to develop the skills necessary for success by new local health officers and examined the feasibility and desirability of a new training program.
NACCHO’s Immunization team has developed the School-Located Vaccination Clinic (SLVC) toolkit. This toolkit includes a variety of materials that are relevant and useful to those planning to facilitate a SLVC.
