NACCHO has developed Increasing Vaccine Confidence: A Resource Guide for Local Health Departments. The goal of this guide is to present tools and resources that LHDs can utilize to address vaccine confidence at the local level among various communities and populations.
On July 29, President Biden announced the Back to School Week of Action, from August 7-15. This week is a nationwide mobilization effort to get young people the COVID-19 vaccine before going back to school in the fall.
At the end of the 2020-2021 Immunization Workgroup year, the members reflected and identified key lessons learned through the COVID-19 response. Those lessons learned are highlighted below. We hope these lessons will help inform and guide any future public health emergencies, particularly those requiring vaccinations.

On August 12, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, CDC’s Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), presented a webinar providing additional details on how the COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed and administered.
